Tesla tenants in France are suing the car manufacturer to end their leases due to Elon Musk’s attachment to the cars and claim that they have become “right-right totems” and have damaged their reputation.
Over the past few years, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken a sharp turn to the right of the political spectrum. After purchasing Twitter, he brought back and promoted several right-right votes forbidden for various reasons, and he even strangers right-right disproved conspiracy theories.
He funded Trump’s election to the tune of nearly $ 300 million and pushed for more right-wing rights in Europe, including the AfD in Germany.
In France, he argued that the right -wing politician Marine Le Pen was politically persecuted and had to be released after a court sentenced her to have defined funds earlier this year.
His commitment to politics has alienated a significant part of Tesla’s customer base, especially in Europe, where Tesla’s sales have fallen.
The impact on Tesla goes beyond new buyers who caters to other brands, but it also resulted in existing owners selling their vehicles distancing themselves from the brand.
We have previously reported T.Hat Tesla owners have also put stickers on their cars to make it clear that they are not rejecting musk and some even have removed their Tesla logos and replaced them with them from Other brands.

But Tesla tenants are facing another problem and now they are trying to tackle it through the court in France.
A group of now 10 Tesla tenants is suing the car manufacturer in France to end their leases due to Musk’s behavior (via Reuters):
A small group of Tesla owners in France are suing the carmaker driven by Elon Musk, claiming its vehicles have become “right-right Totems”, which harms their reputation, said the law firm, which represents the group on Wednesday.
GKA, the law firm representing tenants commented on the case:
Tesla vehicles have become powerful political symbols and are now perceived as true right-wing extremes ‘totems’, much to dismay for those who only bought them as innovative and environmentally friendly vehicles.
They seek to break their leases and recover the legal costs of the case.

Tesla used prices go down so tenants must be happy that they do not own them. That said, I can’t blame them for getting out of the car as soon as possible and ending their leases.
However, I am not familiar enough with French permission to know if they have a case here.
I do not think there is a precedent for a CEO of a consumer product company that stains labeled to the level of Musk as it has been done over such a short period.
