Ingredients for an icy latte

- Espresso beans. I really loved espresso beans from Lavazza and stereoscope. I pick up the latter personally.
- Milk chose. I love oatmeal or whole milk for an ice cream latte.
- Heavy cream. We go for a cream top and heavy cream is crucial to this.
- Maple syrup. I love the way maple syrup tastes, but feel free to use agave syrup, powdered sugar or a little cane sugar.

Variations
- Make it a vanilla icy latte: Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla paste to latte and to cream topping.
- Make it sweetened. This latte is perfectly sweet to me. But you are welcome to mix a teaspoon of sugar with the double espresso shot.
- Use cold brewing. If you don’t have an espresso maker, you can use Cold Brew (as I did with my Mint Vanilla Iced Coffee) instead of a double shot. You may need a bit more. I would do it to taste.
- Use Horchata. You can technically make a dirty horchata by adding this double shot of espresso to a glass of horchata. And you can add the cream -top.
Recipe frequently asked questions
About 2 ounces of espresso will have about 125 milligrams of caffeine.
Jepp, you can do it the night before and store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container. I just wanted to give it a nice mix just before I used it.

-
1 Espresso Maker
-
1 Electric hand mixer
To make cream top:
-
In a small bowl, using an electric hand mixer, you need to combine the heavy cream and maple syrup until they are light and fluffy, approx. 30 seconds. I like it’s fluffy, but still a little loose and pouring.
To make the icy latte:
-
Add ice to a glass. Pull the shot of espresso from your machine.
-
Pour the espresso over the ice. Pour your chosen milk. I like to leave approx. 2 inches of room so there is room for the cream top. Mix it up.
-
Pour the cream top over latte. Garnish with a pinch of flakey sea salt. And chocolate covered espresso beans.
