  1. Kataifi. Kataifi belongs in the Phyllo Dough family and consists of crispy strings of dough. It is used in a lot of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern desserts. When toasted in butter, it’s heavenly.
  2. Pistache Cream. Also known as pistaches butter. These are just pistachios that are painted with sugar and a touch of salt.
  3. Lady fingers. Our favorite Italian cookie, perfect for tiramisu.
  4. Strawberry. Fresh spring strawberries are a delight for this recipe.
  5. Cocoa powder. A dusting of this makes it complete.
  6. Mascarpone cheese. You can’t make any of tiramisu recipes without this (like my Limoncello tiramisu, chai tiramisu or matcha tiramisu).

In order to make Kataifi -filling:

  • Chop kataifi up until it goes from long strands to small bits. Some kataifi are already in bits, so if yours are welcome to skip it.

  • Add the butter in a medium frying pan. When melted, add kataifi and toast it until golden brown and mix it very regularly. Pour into a bowl and allow to cool for 5-7 minutes until it is cool to the touch.

  • Mix the pistache cream in and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

To make tiramisu -filling:

  • In the bowl with a stand-up mixes with the paddle attachment (or a large bowl with an electric hand mixer), add all the ingredients.

  • Whisk all the ingredients together for 1 minute; Scrape down the sides and then hit again for an extra minute as you are sure not to turn it over. Stick to all those two minutes.

  • You need an 8 × 8-inch baking sheet or a 2-quarter bowl of some kind.

To collect tiramisu:

  • Grab your baking sheet. Transfer the heavily brewed coffee to a medium and or small bowl. Works one at a time, quickly dip every damfinger in the coffee. Make sure not to saturate ladyfinger with the coffee, because then they become a little too foggy. All you need is a quick dip in the coffee.

  • Arrange the dipped ladyfingers in the baking sheet, side by side. I ended up filling the empty spaces by beating some of Lady Fingers in different lengths.

  • Add 1/2 of the Kataifi mixture on top and spread in an even layer. Arrange a layer of slices of strawberries. Then add half of the mascarpone mixture and smooth it out.

  • Repeat with the dipped Lady fingers, crispy kataifi mixture, strawberries and end with mascarpone cream.

  • Dust the top with cocoa powder. Serve immediately to the best structure. Or stored in the refrigerator to earn later. If you serve it for later, press a piece of plastic wrap on the surface. And dust the cocoa powder on * just * before serving.

Tips and Tricks:
  • Kataifi – There are different brands of Kataifi and I love it from the brand called Apollo. You can find this in many Middle Eastern grocery stores. It comes in large threads (you will have to cube it). Some kataifi are already coming dice and so are good!
  • Pistache Cream – I love making my homemade pistache butter. But I also love it from the brand called Pisti. They also have it at Costco!
  • I think this Tiramisu tastes best right away. I usually ask you to cool tiramisu for a few hours or overnight, but I love it when kataifi is still crispy. It will still taste astonishing overnight, but just not so good.
